1. What is the distinction between the new version and the original version of online banking of BOC?
A:The new version of online banking is developed by BOC based on a brand-new system platform. It adopts the advanced network technology, design concept and security mechanism, integrates online banking services targeting corporate and personal clients, and brings clients with fresh using experience.
Compared with the original version, the new version has the following features:
· Securer transactions: multiple security mechanisms, such as logon by user name, password, image valid code and E-Token, transaction limit control and SMS notification, ensure the security of client accounts and funds.
· Easier wealth management: beside basic online banking services, such as account management, fund transfer and bill payment, BOC also provides credit card inquiry and repayment services, online investment services, including the online transactions of forex, gold, fund, securities, and treasury bonds.
· More convenient operation: it provides round-the-clock financial services in Chinese and English, and give users a good experience by the beautiful page design.
2. What services does the new version of online banking provide?
A: The new version of online banking provides you with the following services:
1) Account inquiry: You may access your online banking linked accounts to inquire about account balance, transaction details or a summary report on the assets of all linked accounts.
2) Fund transfer: You may transfer funds between online banking linked accounts, or conduct local or inter-province, within-or-inter-bank fund transfer from your account to others’ accounts; add and withdraw funds from saving accounts, or renew the time deposit.
3) Bill payment: It pay various daily fees, such as telephone and mobile phone rates, by self-banking services.
4) Credit card: You may inquire about the account and bill information of credit card, repay the credit card bill, transfer funds to others’ credit card opened at BOC, and set automatic repayment online.
5) Investment: It provides convenient foreign exchange, gold, fund, securities (third party custody/B-share bank-securities transfer) and treasury bond (book-entry) related transactions.
6) BOC E-Message: It provide you with free SMS notifications of your customized online banking operations, so as to enhance the security of online banking.
7) Service setting: You mayset personalized nickname for online banking linked accounts, cancel the linked accounts from online banking, set personal transaction limit, update personal data, modify online banking password, and set welcome message.
3. If I face difficulties in use of the new version of online banking, how can I get help from BOC?
A: You may call BOC online banking client service hotline 40068-95566 at anytime for more detailed reply or contact the local branch of BOC.
4. What software and hardware configurations are needed in use of the new version of online banking of BOC?
A: To use the new version of online banking of BOC, you only need the following hardware configurations:
1) One computer with access to Internet;
2) Internet access channels, such as a phone line and modem or the broadband access;
3) Operation System: Windows 2000 or Windows XP(32-digit) or Windows Vista(32-digit); Internet Explorer version 5.5-7.5.;
4) Display screen is suggested to be set at a definition of 1024x768 or above for the optimum effect.
5. Can I use the new version of online banking of BOC abroad?
A: As long as you have an access to Internet, you may use the new version of online banking of BOC anywhere.
6. Can I manage all my accounts opened with BOC by the new version of online banking?
A:Such accounts as Great Wall electronic debit cards, Great Wall RMB credit cards, BOC series credit cards, passbook of current deposits, ordinary current deposits, passbook of time deposits, installment savings, interest withdrawal on principal deposited, and education savings opened with BOC, as long as they are linked with the new version of online banking, you may manage these accounts by online banking. However, the accounts not linked with the new version of online banking can not be managed by online banking.
If you want a certain linked account to be released from online banking, you may cancel the linkage of such account with online banking by “Account Housekeeper” under “Service Setting”.

Operation
7. What will I do if my computer suddenly crashes or the network connection is suddenly cut off in course of transaction?
A: In such a case, you may resume access to the Internet and log on the new version of online banking, inquiry about the balance or transaction records of trading account by the "Balance Inquiry" and "Transaction Record Inquiry" in "Account Management", and judge whether the transaction has been successfully fulfilled. If the transaction has been successfully completed, you need not to take any special treatment. If the transaction has not been completed, you may opt to restart or abandon the transaction. If you have any question or need any help, please call the online banking 24-hour client service hotline of BOC 40068-95566 at any time.
8. Why can't I key in password of the new version of online banking?
A: In order to guarantee the security of the new version of online banking, the system installs a security applet suite in the sensitive information key-in field of the logon page. If you have not installed the security applet suite or you set your browser as "ActiveX control suite download forbidden", it may lead to the inability to install the security applet suite or failure to key in the online banking password. To resolve such an issue, please select "Tool""->"Internet Options"->"Security" -> "Internet" -> "Custom Level" in the menu of IE browser, and select "Reset as Security Level-Medium" in the dialog box, and then click "Reset". After successfully setting the IE browser, please click the link "security applet suite if logging on for the first time" on the logon page of Online banking, and then download and install the Online banking security applet suite.
Additionally, if you have installed such software as Internet assistant that disenables control suite installation and operation, please modify the setting so as to ensure the control suite can be successfully installed and used.
9. When I use the new version of online banking, it sometimes may prompt "dialog failure", why? Do I need to log on again?
A: After logging on the new version of Online banking, if you leave it unattended for a long time, the system will prompt "dialog failure" and log off automatically. If you still need to use the system, please log on again. Such design may prevent your account from being maliciously operated if you leave your computer unattended and forget to exit the online banking.
10. My IE browser automatically records the user name and logon password of the new version of online banking, how to set the IE to resolve such a problem?
A: If you use the IE browser of Microsoft, you may try the following setting methods and disenable the function "Automation Completion" in the form of browser:
1) Click "Tool" in the menu of browser;
2) Select "Internet Options";
3) Click "Content";
4) Select "Automatic Completion" in personal information zone;
5) Cross off the tick before "User Name and Password of Form"
6) If you need to delete the password that has been stored, click the button "Delete Password".
Registration And Logon (Personal Service)
Registration
1. How to register for the new version of online banking services?
A: New version of online banking can be registered either online or at any BOC branches.
If you need to register and enable the new version of online banking on line, you must first have a BOC Great Wall electronic debit card that has enabled telephone banking services. First log on the website
of BOC (www.boc.cn), click "Log on New Version Online Banking" to access the logon page, then click "Online Registration" and go through online registration procedures according to the prompts. After
enabling the online banking, you may use the inquiry functions of online banking, but the transfer, fee payment, investment and such other online banking functions that concern changes in account funds are
unavailable.
If you need to make all functions of online banking available, you need to go through the registration procedures at an branch of BOC by presenting your valid identity certificates. To enable the online
banking services, you must have a Great Wall electronic debit card or apply for a new debit card and enable the new version of online banking at the counter.
2. When applying for the new version of online banking at the counter, do I register the "Inquiry Edition" or the "Wealth Management Edition"?
A: The Inquiry Edition only provides clients with inquiry services. If you want to use any function which involves funds movement, such as fund transfer, bill payment, or investments, please register for the
"Wealth Management Edition" and meanwhile apply for an E-Token, an online banking security authentication tool of BOC, so as to facilitate you to experience diversified services of the new version of online
banking.
3. After opening the new version of online banking, how can I manage my multiple accounts through online banking system?
A: Please go through the procedures for linkage of online linkages at an branch of BOC by presenting valid identity certificates and other bankcards or passbooks (including Great Wall electronic debit card,
Great Wall RMB credit cards, BOC series credit card, passbook of current deposits, ordinary current deposits, passbook of time deposits, interest withdrawal on principal deposited, installment savings and
education savings, and in some regions, Great Wall RMB credit card also included) that you intend to enable the online banking functions. In order to confirm your identity, you also need to carry a bankcard
or a passbook that has been enabled the online banking.
Gentle reminder: In order to prevent you from frequently traveling to the bank, it is suggested that you prepare valid identity certificates, bankcard, passbook and all related materials, and go through all
necessary procedures at the counter regarding the registration of online banking, account linkage of online linkages, and application for E-Token.
4. How many accounts can I link to the new version of online banking?
A: You may link 20 accounts at most to the new version of online banking.
5. Do I need to link my passbook and the debit card opened under the passbook with the new version of online banking?
A: In this case, the passbook and debit card correspond to the same bank account. Therefore, you only need to link either of them with the new version of online banking, i.e. managing such an account by the
new version of online banking. Passbook and its corresponding debit card can not be linked with the new version of online banking concurrently.
Gentle reminder: To facilitate your investment transactions, we suggest you to link the debit card to the online banking system, because the debit card is a prerequisite for some online invesetment services.
6. May I link accounts of other persons?
A: In order to guarantee the security of your account funds, the new version of online banking of BOC disallow the linkage of bank accounts of any other persons. You may transfer or remit funds to any
account of other persons opened with BOC by the bank’s internal transfer functions.
7. What can I do if I will not use the new version of online banking in the near future but I am reluctant to disenable the new version.
A: You may apply for suspending the new version of online banking at an branch of BOC by presenting valid identity certificates and any passbook or bankcard linked with the online banking. If you hope to
resume the new version of online banking in the future, you may apply to an branch of BOC again for resuming it. If you will not use the new version of online banking in a long period, suspending the new
version of online banking may guarantee your online banking security to the maximum.
8. Why is my new version of online banking locked up? How to unlock it?
A: If a user fails to log on for five successive times due to user name or password input error, the system will be automatically locked up and unlocked on the next day. If the user is urgent to use the
online banking services, he/she may apply to an branch of BOC for unlocking it by presenting valid identity certificates and any passbook or bankcard linked with the online banking.
If a user fails to log on for 15 successive times (on a day or within several days) due to user name or password input error, he/she shall apply to an branch of BOC for unlocking it by presenting valid
identity certificates and any passbook or bankcard linked with the online banking.
9. How to disenable the new version of online banking services?
A: If you do need to disenable the new version of online banking services, you may apply to an branch of BOC for the cancellation of online banking services by presenting valid identity certificates and any
passbook or bankcard linked with the online banking, and also you can call BOC customer service hotline 95566, choosing operator services and answers necessary questions to cancel the online banking
services. After cancellation of the online banking services, the unprocessed automatic transfer transactions saved in the Online banking system will be terminated.
Log-on
10. How to use the new version of online banking after I complete the registration at the counter?
A: After you register and enable the new version of online banking at the counter, please click “Log on New Version Online Banking” on the homepage of the BOC website (www.boc.cn) to access the log-on page
of new version of online banking of BOC. If you haven’t installed the newly updated online banking security applet, please download and install the new edition of the security applet before log-on. When
logging on for the first time, please use the initial logon user name obtained at the counter in course of registration and the initial logon password reserved at the counter. After logon, the system may
prompt you to set a new online banking user name and modify the online banking password. Only after completing the modification of user name and password can you start to use various functions of the new
version of online banking.
11. What will I do if I forget the user name/logon password on the new version of online banking?
A: If you forget either of the user name or the password, you may retrieve it by the function "Retrieve User Name/Password" on the logon page. To use such a function, you must have enabled the telephone
banking services for the debit card used in registration of the new version of online banking because the system shall verify the telephone banking password of the bankcard in course of retrieval of user
name or password.
If you forget both user name and password, or if you fail to retrive your username or password online, you may go through the procedures for retrieving username or resetting password at an branch of BOC by
presenting valid identity certificates and any passbook or bankcard linked with the online banking.
12. Can I reset my user name of the new version of online banking?
A: No. Online banking user name is an important mark to identify you by the new version of online banking. Once the user name is set, it can not be modified. If you do need to modify your user name, you can
only cancel your online banking user and register another one.
13. Can I reset my password of the new version of online banking?
A: Of course, you can. You may reset your password of the new version of online banking by the function "Modify Password" in "Service Setting". The password is composed of 8-20 numbers and letters, and the
modified password will come into force when you log on online banking at the next time. We suggest that you regularly modify the password of online banking, and avoid using too simple or regular password so
as to enhance the security of online banking.
Security Mechanism(Personal Service)
E-Token
1. What is the E-Token?
A: E-Token is an electronic device with embedded battery, password generation chip and display screen, which automatically update dynamic passwords on a regular basis according to specific computing method. The system based on the dynamic password technique is also known as One-Time-Pad (OTP) system, i.e. the password is changing, and one password will cease to be in force if it has been used one time, and at the next time the logon password will be a different one. As an important two-factor authentication tool, E-Token is widely used for authentication. E-Token may greatly enhance the logon and transaction security of online banking.
2. What advantages does the E-Token have?
A: E-Token is not only secure but also convenient. E-Token, also known as OTP system, updates password once every 60 seconds, and has the advantages that every password is used only one time in course of authentication and will be changed in the next authentication, so that lawbreakers are unlikely to pass themselves off as legal users and the users do not need to remember the password. The use of E-Token is quite simple without installation of driver, and the user only needs to key in the dynamic password displayed in the E-Token according to the prompt of online banking system.
3. What is the update cycle of dynamic password and how many digits does a password have?
A: Dynamic password is randomly updated once every 60 seconds with a length of six digits.
4. How long is the validity period of an E-Token?
A: The validity period of an E-Token is three years starting from the production date (The expiration date is shown on the back of E-Token). The E-Token will be no longer in force upon expiration.
5. Why is my E-Token locked up? What will I do?
A: When using a dynamic password in logon or transaction authentication, if the user keys in wrong password for 10 successive times (in one day or several days), the system will automatically lock up the E-Token. In this case, you shall go through the unlocking procedures at the counter by presenting valid identity certificates and a bankcard or passbook linked with the new version of online banking.
6. What will I do if I correctly key in the dynamic password but the online banking system prompts many times that the password is wrong?
A: Such a case is not very likely to happen. Once it happens, it is possibly caused by the deviation of time calculation of your dynamic password, rather than E-Token malfuntion. In this case, you only need to synchronize the E-Token at the counter, to ensure the similar mistakes will not happen in a long period.
7. What will I do if I lose my E-Token by accident?
A: If you lose your E-Token by accident, in order to guarantee your security in use of online banking, please immediately report the loss of E-Token at the counter by presenting your valid identity certificates and a bankcard or passbook linked with the new version of online banking; within the period of loss reporting, if you find the E-Token, you may go through the procedures for cancellation of loss reporting at the counter; if you fail to find the E-Token, you may apply for a new E-Token at the counter.
Other Security Mechanism
8. When I access online banking for the first time, it pops up the prompt "whether to install security applet of BOC Online Banking", what does it mean?
A: Installing security applet may prevent other persons from controlling your computer and stealing your user name, password and other important data by worms (e.g. Trojan software). It is suggested that when you log on the online banking for the first time, you should click the link "Security Applet Download" to download and install online banking security applet, or you will be unable to key in the logon password of the new version of online banking. The prompt of installing security applet will no longer display after you have logged on online banking once.
9. Why do I fail in download of security applet?
A: If you fail to download the security applet, it is possibly because there is a third party security software that leads to the incomplete download of security applet or the network transmission is instable resulting in the failure of data download and the capacity deviation. If the download of security applet is halted by other software, you must select "Yes"; if you have selected "No" in the third party security applet, the antivirus software may halt the security applet directly without any prompt, in which case it is suggested that you disenable all other security software in download and installation of security applet; if your network transmission is unstable and results in incomplete data download, please download control installation program again.
10. Why messy code occurs in installation of "BOC Online Banking Security Applet"? How to resolve it?
A: If messy code occurs in installation of security applet, it is because the security applet edition downloaded is incorrect. If you use the English-version operating system, please download the applet on the English-version online banking logon page; if you use the Chinese-version operating system, please download the applet on the Chinese-version online banking logon page.
11. How to correctly uninstall the security applet in the user system?
A: Please enter the control panel, double-click "Add/Delete Program", click the BOC online banking control "BOCnet Client Update Program", and then click Delete (Uninstall).
12. What operating system applies to the security applet? Does the Vista operating system support the security applet?
A: The newly updated online banking security applet is compatible with all the 32-digit Windows systems, including Windows 2000, Windows XP(32-digit), and Windows Vista(32-digit).
13. What is the dialog timeout?
A: Dialog timeout means if you have no operation for a certain period after logging on the online banking, the system will automatically exit in order to prevent any other person from illegally operating your accounts when you leave your computer unattended or forget to exit.
14. Can I set a transaction limit by the new version of online banking in order to control risks?
A: Yes, you can. You may flexibly set the daily ceiling for the transfer, remittance, time deposit,and bill payment by the function “Set Transaction Limit” under “Customized Setting” of “Service Setting”, in order to control trading risk by setting a limit.
Gentle reminder: the limit set by the “Set Transaction Limit” shall not exceed the maximum transaction limit stipulated by the Bank.
Account management (Personal Service)
Account Inquiry
1. How to use the account inquiry function of the new version of online banking?
A: You may inquire about all online banking linked accounts by the "Account Overview" in the "Bank Account". Clicking the links such as balance, transaction details and account details behind the account selected, you can inquire about the details about fund balance, transaction records, account bank and account status of relevant accounts.
2. What is the asset summary report? How to use such report?
A: Asset summary report is a personal balance sheet that comprehensively reflects your financial position. The asset summary report summarizes your assets and liabilities in each bank account linked with the new version of online banking by currency and account, giving you a clear picture of your financial status. After successfully the Balance of all accounts in the Account Overview, you may view the Asset Summary Report.
3. What is the function of "Inquire about Old Account Number"?
A: The core system of BOC is being upgraded. During the upgrade, the original bank account numbers of clients will be updated according to the new business rules; after completion of the upgrade, clients may enjoy more convenient and perfect banking services in an all-round way. In order to facilitate clients to inquire about original accounts corresponding to the new account numbers, the new version of online banking provides the service "Inquire about Old Account Number" to the clients in the regions where the system upgrade has been completed.
Fund Transfer
4. What kinds of fund transfer does the new version of online banking provide?
A:With the new version of online banking, you may conveniently complete various kinds of fund transfer, including:
· Transfer between linked accounts: you may transfer funds between your debit card, passbook of current deposits and ordinary current deposit accounts linked with online banking; and you can also make fund transfer between different types of bank cards of BOC, including your own debit card, Great Wall RMB credit card, and so on(You can make cross-province fund transfer between debit cards, and cross-province fund transfer between Great Wall RMB credit cards is also supported in some regions.)
· Internal transfer within BOC: you may transfer funds from your linked debit card and the Great Wall RMB credit card to the other debit cards or Great Wall RMB credit cards (including your own or others’ cards that are not linked with online banking services)opened with BOC(You can make cross-province fund transfer between debit cards, and cross-province fund transfer between Great Wall RMB credit cards is also supported in some regions.).
· Domestic inter-bank transfer: you may transfer funds between your debit card and accounts opened with other domestic banks locally or inter-province.
· Fix Deposit: you can transfer funds between your linked fix deposit accounts and your current savings accounts with the same province.
5. By the function “Linked Account Transfer” in the menu “Fund transfer”, what kinds of linked accounts can the fund be transferred between?
A: By the function “Linked Account Transfer” in the menu “Fund transfer”, you may transfer funds between linked accounts of new version of online banking, including the transfer between your debit cards, passbook of current deposits and ordinary current deposits ,and also including the transfer between different types of bank cards(such as debit cards and Great Wall RMB credit cards). Cross-province fund transfer is supported between debit cards.
Through the function "Time Deposit”, you may convert time deposits into current deposits and vice versa between the passbook of time deposit accounts (or time deposit accounts such as interest withdrawal on principal deposited, installment savings and education savings) and current deposit accounts. No transaction may exceed the pre-set transaction limit.
If you hope to transfer from online-linked debit cards or Great Wall RMB credit cards to series cards of BOC, please use “repayment by credit cards” function under “credit cards” service. (transfer in different provinces can be done inter-province between debit cards)
6. May I transfer funds to the accounts opened by other persons with BOC?
A: Yes, you can. You may transfer funds to Great Wall electronic debit cards and Great Wall RMB Credit cards opened by other persons with BOC within and across a province by the function “Transfer within BOC” in the “Fund transfer”.
7. May I transfer funds to the accounts opened at the other banks?
A: Yes, you can. You may transfer funds to the accounts opened by other persons with any other domestic bank within or across a province.
8. What is the distinction between "Transfer Record" in the menu "Fund transfer" and the "Transaction Detail" in the menu "Bank Account"?
A: Through "Transfer Record" in the menu of "Fund transfer", you may inquire about the details about the fund transfer via the new version of online banking over the past one year. The record includes the information of successful or failed transactions and details about payee name, account number and remarks.
Through "Transaction Detail" in the menu "Bank Account", you may inquire about the accounting records of all transactions of selected accounts handled at the counter or by telephone banking, online banking and other channels. These records contain only the accounting information (fund change information) of successful transactions, and do not include the information of failed transactions and payee details.
9. Can the transaction certificates be printed for transfer via the new version of online banking?
A: After you transfer funds by the new version of online banking of BOC, you may print the transaction result page as transaction reference. In "Transfer Record", you may also take relevant transfer records inquired as transaction reference. However, both shall not be used as formal transaction certificates. If you need formal certificates, please conduct fund transfer at an branch of BOC.
10. What will I do if the browser does not react or it displays the system timeout after submission of the transfer instruction?
A: As for a real-time transaction, you may inquire about whether the transaction is successful by "Transfer Record" in the menu of "Fund transfer", or inquire about whether the account funds change by "Transaction Detail" in the menu "Bank Account". If the transaction records display that the transaction has been successfully fulfilled or the account funds have changed, you do not need to take any special operation. If the transaction fails or account funds do not change, you may opt to restart or abandon it.
As for an appointed transfer transaction, you may inquire about whether the appointment instruction exists in the record by "Appointment Management" in the menu "Fund transfer". If the appointment instruction has existed in the record, you do not need to take any special operation. If there is no such appointment instruction, you may opt to restart or abandon it.
11. What is the transfer on appointed date? What is the transfer in appointed cycle?
A: Transfer on an appointed date means that you designate a transfer to be implemented on a certain in the next three months by setting the basic conditions of transfer via online banking (including currency, amount, transfer-out/transfer-in account, etc.); transfer on an appointed cycle means that you designate the transfer to be automatically and cyclically implemented on the start date, end date and in the cycle (of which, the start date may be any day in the next month, and the end date may be any day of the next six months), by setting the basic conditions of transfer via online banking (including currency, amount, transfer-out/transfer-in account, etc.).
The two appointment functions may help you customize automatic transfer more conveniently and flexibly.
12. Why some appointment instructions can not be deleted in "Appointment Management"?
A: Your transfer (transfer between linked accounts, internal transfer within BOC, domestic inter-bank remittance, and time deposits) appointment instructions will be automatically executed by the system on the date designed by you. If you need to modify or delete a transfer appointment instruction, please complete the operation by "Appointment Management" prior to the expiry date. If there is no button Modify or Delete behind the instruction, it signifies that your appointment instruction has been executed (no matter whether it is successful or not) or has entered the sequence of system execution, and thus is unable to be modified or deleted.
Time Deposit
13. What kinds of time deposits can be added by the new version of online banking?
A: Through the new version of online banking, you may add lump-sum time deposits in the passbook of time deposits. In some regions, you may also add the call deposits and accounts for both time and current savings deposits.
14. What kinds of time deposits can be withdrawn by the new version of online banking?
A: Through the new version of online banking, you may withdraw four kinds of time deposits, i.e. lump-sum time deposits, accounts for both time and current savings deposits, call deposits and interest withdrawal on principal deposited, on the premise that you have opened related time deposit services with BOC.
15. What kinds of time deposits can be renewed by the new version of online banking?
A: You may renew time deposits such as installment deposits and education savings by the new version of online banking, on the premise that you have opened related savings services with BOC.
Service Setting (Personal Service)
1. What functions does the Account Housekeeper provide?
A: The Account Housekeeper enables you to set personalized nicknames for the accounts linked with new version of online banking, and facilitates you to identify different linkages in online banking transactions. You may cancel the linkage between the selected account with the new version of online banking by the Account Housekeeper.
2. What role does the transaction limit have?
A: After setting a transaction limit, if you make transfer, time deposit, and bill payment by the new version of online banking, the online banking system will check the transaction amount according to the limit set by you. The transaction beyond the limit will be rejected, thus mitigating the online banking trading risk.
The limit set by you is a cumulative limit for the online banking transactions of current date, and statistics of foreign currency transactions will be converted into RMB according to the exchange rate of that day. The limits are set by different online banking products.
3. What is BOC E-Message? Is there a charge for "BOC E-Message" service?
A: BOC E-Message means the mobile phone SMS service specially provided by BOC to its online banking users. After you subscribe to the BOC E-Message service, you may customize shortment message notices of a series of online banking operations according to your needs, for example, the online banking logon notice, notice of consecutive input of wrong password, fund transfer notice etc. After successful completion of the customization, you will receive mobile phone short message notice from BOC when the above operations are conducted. BOC E-Message service enables you to understand the operations in online linkages anytime and anywhere, thus effectively protecting your online banking security. Presently, BOC renders BOC E-Message services to all its clients free of charge.
4. If I want to customize "BOC E-Message" SMS prompt service again, how can I modify it?

As an important two-factor authentication tool, E-Token is widely used in security certification. E-Token may greatly enhance the logon and transaction security of online banking.

A: E-Token is not only secure but also convenient. What is the update frequency of dynamic password and how many numbers does a password have?
A: Dynamic password is updated once every 60 seconds with a length of six digits.
How long is the effective period of an E-Token? How to deal with an E-Token that has passed its expiration date?
A: The effective period of an E-Token is three years starting the ex-factory date (The expiration date is shown on the back of E-Token). The E-Token will be no longer in force upon expiration.
What is the relation between E-Token and user?
A: Every E-Token has a sole serial number (marked on the back of E-Token). When a user applies for the E-Token, BOC will establish an exclusive coincidence relation between E-Token and user name, certificate type and certificate number.
How to apply for E-Token?
A: Users may carry their effective identity certificates (corporate customers need to provide organization registration code certificates and application) to apply for E-Token at the outlets designated by BOC and pay relevant fees. Upon review and approval, BOC will issue E-Token to users.
Why the E-Token is locked up? How to deal with it?
A: When a user logs on or verifies transactions by dynamic passwords, if failing in verification for 10 successive times, the system will automatically lock up the E-Token of the user and refuse the user’s logon in order to prevent your E-Token from being maliciously tried and protect your fund security. Thereafter, in case the E-Token is locked up, the user can not log on even he/she keys in the correct password and will be advised the lockup information when logging on the online banking. After the E-Token is locked up, the user shall fill in the application form, and carry valid identity certificate and E-Token (and a power of attorney if not personally) to unlock the E-Token at an outlet of BOC.
How to report loss of, cancel the loss reporting of and renew the E-Token?
A: In case of loss of the E-Token, the user shall fill in an application form, and carry his/her valid identity certificates (and a power of attorney if not personally) to report loss of the E-Token to any outlet designated by BOC. Handling of loss reporting: BOC will suspend the E-Token and disallow its access to online banking system. After the loss reporting, the user may renew the E-Token or cancel the loss reporting, after which the original E-Token will be in force again without applying for a new E-Token. If the user needs to renew the E-Token, he/she shall fill in an application form, and carry his/her valid identity certificates to apply for a new E-Token at an outlet designated by BOC after paying related fees. If the user needs to cancel the los reporting, he/she shall fill in an application form and carry valid identity certificates (and a power of attorney if not personally) and the relevant E-Token to handle it at any outlet designated by BOC.

A: No. The function “Data Download” provides only information services, and you are privileged to download and process information according to your needs, in order to enhance the automated financial management of enterprise. How long can the historical balance and historical transactions information of an account be stored in the onternet banking system?
A: We will provide you with historical balance and transaction information of the past one year, with an inquiry time span of three months. It is suggested that you download and save the historical data in your PC.
When I inquire about the historical balance and transaction information, the system prompts “Qualified transaction is unavailable, please define the inquiry conditions again” or “Historical balance information is not available”, why?
A: The reason is possibly that no transaction occurs on the day, or transactions occur but a mistake happens when the back office system of BOC Online Banking uploads the customer’s historical information and leads to the inability to inquire about the historical information. Then, please contact the local branch office with which you opened the account and inform it of the date and account number that your fail to inquire about, and the branch office then will forward the issue to the provincial branch or the Head Office for solutions.

If my entrustment is rejected by the bank, can I submit it once again?
A: No, you can not submit the transaction again. In this case, you need to establish another entrustment.
In case of misoperation of a transaction that has been successfully submitted, do I need to inform the bank?
A: If the payment date is set at a day in the future, you may cancel the transaction by yourself via the function “Cancellation”; if the designated payment date is today, and you need to contact the account bank as the transaction is under processing by the bank. A: You may modify your logon password by the function “Modify Password”.
What should I do if I forget the password?
A: If you forget your password, you must report it to the local online banking service department. You may issue an official letter to apply for resetting the password if the password has not been used; otherwise, you need to fill up relevant application forms, affix seal on them as required, and then submit them to the bank for password resetting.
Payee management
Should I maintain the payee account information before submitting payment instruction every time?
A: No, you should not. Once you maintain the payee account information, it will be saved in the system permanently if you do not delete it. When you submit a single payment instruction thereafter, you may select or inquire about the selection by the drop-down menu, thereby preventing repeated key-in of the payee account information and reducing the possibility of mistakes.
How to modify or delete the payee information?
A: You may modify or delete the payee information on the page of payee list. The detailed procedures are as follows:
(1) Click “Payee Inquiry”.
(2) Type in basic information of the records to be modified or deleted on the payee inquiry page, in order to narrow the scope of search.
(3) Click “Submit” after completing the type-in, and enter the page of payee list.
